Beschreibung: This traditional English Christmas song stems from the music of 16th century folk songs. The original Lyrics, Greensleeves were discarded and replaced with parts of William Chatterton Dix The Manger Throne after 1865, becoming What Child is This?. I endeavored to create a serious arrangement that hopefully expresses the beauty and mystery of Dixs text. This arrangement, perhaps, approaches a film score for an epic, biblical hollywood movie, while still remaining faithful to the original melody.
