Towards
the end of the 80 starts as a keyboardist with the rock formations HSH in 1989
and founded the band, formation of experimental rock that has been fairly
successful in the premises of triveneto, he also won the first prize at the
festival of independent video Monza, sec. Video clips, with their song "Televideo".
For a
year he was the pianist of the cabaret duo "Caffè Sconcerto" that
took him around the northern Italy in various shows. In parallel to the experimental rock and
cabaret, Colombo continues to study piano and approaches to jazz thanks to a
grant from the EEC won in 1992 that led him to a full-immersion four months
studying with world-class jazz musicians such as Harold Danko, Mark Egan, Vic
Juris, Elliot Zigmund, Ares Tavolazzi, Bruno Cesselli and others.
In those
years he begins to perform as a jazz pianist in numerous local triveneto and
founded the Carlo Colombo trio, a trio consisting of piano, doublebass, drums
and vocals that plays the classic swing Italian: Hammond, Carosone, Earl and
others along with original songs that form the backbone of shows offered.
In 2002
he founded together with the DJ and producer David Benvegnù and bassist Philip
Wee the electronic music group "Mind to beat" which publishes two
discs.
Beginning
in 2002 he published under his own name four discs, two of which with the label
Drycastle Records of Arezzo. From 2013
he is director and arranger of the project "Portobuffolè Swing Orchestra",
a small eight-piece band featuring swing
dance.
